I am currently a senior majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Rice University. I like Rice a lot. It is a small, walkable campus where you quickly get to know people, which has made it easy for me to get involved in very different corners of student life. I especially like the residential college system compared to greek life. I am a member of Lovett College.
ENGINEERING
In the summer of 2023 I worked as an instructor for Rice ELITE Tech, teaching high school students engineering-focused courses in 3D printing, 3D modeling, and Python.
See the Rice ELITE Tech page for details.
For my senior design project, I am part of a six-person engineering team working on an autonomous drone for transporting sensitive biologics such as organs, blood, and antivenom. The project is part of a student-founded startup, HAAST Autonomous.
See the HAAST page for technical details and project progress.
In my senior year, I earned my CSWP certification (certified SolidWorks Professional).

ENTREPRENEURSHIP
I co-founded Bob’s Banana Bread, a weekly late-night banana bread pop-up on campus. After a summer of experimenting with recipes, we launched the business to fill a gap in Rice’s late-night dining options. The business was featured in the school newspaper and the 2025–2026 student handbook.
See the Bob’s Banana Bread page for the full story.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP AND CAMPUS CULTURE
Outside the classroom, I have been deeply involved in the Rice collegiate esports scene. I compete in Super Smash Bros. and have been ranked #1 twice on the Rice Power Rankings, staying in the top 2 for my entire time at Rice.
Along with my roommate, I co-founded the Rice Rap Club, a student organization dedicated to appreciation of the rap music genre. We have hosted multiple events, including album listening parties, and I served as treasurer for the first two years before becoming president in my senior year. Leading into the fall semester, we spent months planning a large-scale rap concert to address the lack of representation for the genre on campus. While Rice frequently hosts live concerts, ours became only the third rap concert in the university’s history.
We partnered with the Center for Engaged Research and Collaborative Learning (CERCL) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) to raise funding and coordinate logistics. We successfully booked Atlanta rapper UnoTheActivist and a few opening artists for a sold-out show packed with 300 students in the Rice Student Center. The event ran flawlessly. The concert was entirely student-organized and required extensive coordination with RUPD, REMS, the Student Center, CERCL, SHPE, the school newspaper, the artists, and the DJs.
