Torah Tech is a gap-year program in the heart of Tel Aviv that integrates intensive Torah study with professional development through business and technology internships. The program is structured around a roughly 50/50 split between full-time work days and dedicated study days.
On work days, I interned full time at Impact Labs, an additive manufacturing company in Tel Aviv. The internship was arranged through Torah Tech and emphasized hands-on engineering and real production work rather than observation. This experience became a major step in my development as an engineer and is documented in detail on its own page.
See the Impact Labs page for a full breakdown of my work and projects.
JUDAIC STUDIES
Study days were built around small-group Torah learning alongside lectures and discussions with guest speakers. These guests came from a wide range of backgrounds, including venture capital, business leadership, media, and religious scholarship. Topics ranged from startups and leadership to ethics, faith, and life in Israel. The variety of perspectives helped connect abstract values to real professional and personal decision-making.
EXPLORATION AND INDEPENDENCE
In addition to classroom learning, the program included extensive travel throughout Israel. We explored Tel Aviv, hiked in national parks, visited museums and historic sites, and traveled to places such as Jerusalem, Masada, Mount Hermon, the Dead Sea, and the Negev Desert. These experiences provided cultural and historical grounding that complemented both the academic and professional sides of the program.
Living and working in Tel Aviv marked my first experience living independently from my parents. Balancing a full-time internship, structured study, and daily life in a new country significantly increased my confidence, self-reliance, and sense of responsibility.
