I interned with FAIR as an IT intern, supporting internal systems and data infrastructure for a growing national nonprofit.
Much of my work focused on data migration and organization, helping move and clean large datasets as FAIR transitioned to a new CRM system (Salesforce). This included organizing information related to national chapters, members, and internal records, and reviewing and filtering over 10,000 testimonials and feedback submissions from global FAIR members to ensure the data was usable, accurate, and properly categorized.
In addition to technical work, I contributed to small design projects where needed, including creating logos for different FAIR divisions using Photoshop. This role gave me exposure to how nonprofits operate behind the scenes, and how technical organization directly supports outreach, coordination, and growth.
The summer 2022 cohort of FAIR interns. I'm the tall one in the middle.
During my time at FAIR, I also had the chance to meet Daryl Davis, whose work on dialogue and reconciliation I’ve long admired. I came up to him and asked what his favorite song is and he answered “Johnny B. Goode,” which makes perfect sense since he has performed with Chuck Berry many times. Great Guy.
